About Me
I earned my Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Human Services from Appalachian State University and continued my education with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Alabama. Today, I am an Associate Licensed Counselor in the state of Alabama as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor. I work under the supervision of Leslie Weaver Martin, LPC-S, NCC.
From a young age, I longed for a career that allowed me to help others. As my college career progressed, it became clear that counseling was my calling. Having the opportunity to walk alongside others through some of their darkest moments is a true privilege.
I have a passion for and years of experience in working with individuals who struggle with fear of the future and feeling not "good enough". I know all too well what it's like to be consumed with anxiety about what the future may hold. My goal is to empower these individuals to create their own destiny allowing them to approach big life changes with confidence instead of worry.
Additionally, I enjoy working with couples to improve communication and deepen their understanding of each other. I have completed Level I training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and utilize this method as the foundation in my work with couples.

I use a cognitive-behavioral approach to help clients discover how their thought processes impact their emotions and behaviors. Together, we will assess your individual goals and implement coping mechanisms to help you get there.

When every conversation somehow turns into an argument, giving up may seem like the only option.
I use a Gottman Method approach to help couples to reignite the passion in their relationship, improve communication, and heal from past transgressions.

I offer all my clients a free 15 minute phone consultation allowing us to get to know each other and answer any questions you may have about the therapy process. If I can't provide you with what you're searching for directly, I will provide you with referrals for other professionals in the area who can!
