Background

I earned my Bachelors of Science in Psychology with a concentration in Human Services from Appalachian State University and went on to graduate with a Masters of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of South Alabama. Currently, I am an Associate Licensed Counselor in the state of Alabama as well as a Nationally Certified Counselor. I work under the supervision of Leslie Weaver Martin, LPC-S, NCC.

From a young age, I knew I wanted to pursue a career that allowed me to help others. As my college career progressed, it became increasingly clear that counseling was my calling. Having the opportunity to walk alongside others through some of their darkest moments is such a privilege.

I have a passion for and years of experience in working with young adults who struggle with fear of the future and feeling not "good enough". I know how intimidating it can be entering adulthood. My approach is to help these individuals have the ability to move towards the future with confidence instead of worry.

Additionally, I enjoy working with couples to improve communication and deepen their understanding of each other. When every conversation somehow turns into an argument, it can lead to feelings of resentment towards that person who used to make your whole world stop. I have completed Level I training in Gottman Method Couples Therapy and utilize this method as the foundation in my work with couples to help reignite that spark.
